An Indigenous midwife in every Indigenous community. With Indigenous-led care, we spend less for better health outcomes, and better local economies and education. Today, approximately 92.2% of deliveries in Nunavik are done through the work of Inuit midwives. 93.6% of respondents said the Canadian government should make changes to end routine birth evacuations. 95% of respondents agreed: Indigenous pregnant people should have access to care from qualified Indigenous midwives in their communities.
