Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples<\/a><\/strong>. As active members of the Canadian Association of Midwives, we represent the professional development and practice needs of Indigenous midwives to the responsible health authorities in Canada and the global\u00a0community.<\/p>\n<p>Indigenous Midwives enable access to culturally\u2011safe sexual and reproductive health care for Indigenous families, the return of birth to Indigenous communities, and a reduction in the number of medical evacuations for births in remote\u00a0areas.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=\u00a0\u00bb1\/3&Prime;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #3251cf;\">CORE VALUES<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4>Recognizing that the good health and well\u2011being of Indigenous parents and their babies is crucial to the empowerment of Indigenous families and communities, Indigenous midwives uphold the following Core\u00a0Values.<\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=\u00a0\u00bb1\/3&Prime;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #3251cf;\">HEALING<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Indigenous midwives enhance the capacity of a community to heal from historical and ongoing traumas, addictions, and violence.
